Course Modules

Calibrating the Brain for Healing.

In this module we will talk about the common pitfalls and beliefs that keep people from healing. We will talk about non-ordinary states of consciousness and their effect on the health of the nervous system and the default mode network. You will learn tools to change the subconscious programming and what you believe about healing, as well as tools and techniques that optimize the tone of the autonomic nervous system.

Laying the Foundation: Nourishment of the Nervous System.

Basically, nerves need oxygen, sugar, and stimulation in order to thrive. In this module we will discuss oxygenation of the brain, optimization of the gut/brain axis, hydration, diet, fasting, nootropics, and overall how to stop the vicious cycle of neurologic inflammation.

Cleaning House and Getting Rid of Obstacles.

One of the principles of naturopathic medicine is to remove the obstacles to cure. You will learn where to look for neurotoxins that can harm or prevent healing. We will also look at commonly found subclinical infections in the body and how they affect the nervous system. Neurological interference fields will also be discussed, what they are and where to find them.

Optimizing Sleep.

During sleep, the body is less metabolically active and uses this opportunity to detoxify itself. It is also when anabolic hormones are released, which generally promote the strengthening and building of tissue. Neurologically, sleep is important for sorting though what is important and pruning things that aren’t. We will go over tools principles, tools, and techniques to achieve deep and rejuvenating sleep.

Using Physical Movement as a Therapeutic Tool.

Proprioceptive (position sense) input from the body is very important to the nervous system’s function. When the brain’s map of the body doesn’t match up with the structural reality of the body, this can result in pain, incoordination, and sensory and motor deficits. Movement (aka exercise) is important for updating the brain’s map of the body and integration of the both hemispheres of the brain.

Improving Learning and Memory.

Memory is an important part of how we interact with the world, and our ability to learn things can dramatically change the quality of our lives. We will go over how learning and memory work, as well as techniques and biochemical hacks (nootropics) to upgrade your processing and integration of new knowledge.

Leveraging the Quantum Physical Model of Healing.

The most recent discoveries that are coming out of physics tells us that things in our physical world are not as fixed as we think they are, and that the way that we observe it can change it. We can use this idea in medicine to re-wire the brain and enhance the body’s ability to heal.

Putting it All Together.

Applied knowledge is wisdom. In this module we will put it all together and talk about how to maintain momentum for life-long results.

About Dr. Evan

Dr. Evan van Driel, BSc, ND is a Naturopathic Physician specializing in the treatment of trauma, mood disorders, and chronic pain. He graduated from Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine in 2014 with a doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine and has since pursued post-graduate studies in neuro-emotional technique, muscle physiology, psychoneuroimmunology, and regenerative medicine, including certification from the International College of Applied Kinesiology and multiple certifications in injection techniques and the application of ozone.

Dr. Evan’s mission is to help people to be stronger so that they can handle more. By helping people to reduce pain, improve their mood, and re-wire their brains after trauma, Dr. Evan has noticed that people can be more themselves and show up differently in life. He sees the nervous system as innately intelligent, adaptable, and having a high degree of plasticity. Being able to leverage his knowledge of this fact structurally, biochemically, and mentally/emotionally means that what people experience doesn't have to be what they experience.

Course FAQ

Q: I am going on vacation right in the middle of this course, should I wait to participate?
A: Even though the course takes place over 8 weeks, it is designed to be gone through at your own pace. If you miss a couple of weeks, you can pick up where you left on and rejoin as the modules are released weekly. The new modules will be emailed to you every Tuesday.

Q: How long is the course? How much time will this take to implement?
A: Each module is ~ 60 minutes. The tools and techniques that you will learn have been chose because they are the most efficient. Getting the best results in the least amount of time, money, and energy spent is the goal here.

Q: I don’t have any experience with natural medicine. Will I get lost?
A: None of the topics or tools discussed require any specialized knowledge of the body.
